CROÍLÁR Festival brings a vibrant three-day showcase of emerging Irish musicians, artists, and storytellers to Athlone. Organised by a passionate local team, the festival aims to revitalise the heart of Ireland with live performances, comedy, workshops, and more.
Taking place from April 4-6, 2025, the inaugural CROÍLÁR Festival will collaborate with multiple venues and businesses to highlight the best of Irish arts and culture. The name ‘CROÍLÁR,’ meaning ‘heartlands,’ reflects the festival’s deep roots in the Midlands, connecting the local community with a wider audience. The festival focuses on showcasing emerging Irish talent, providing a platform for new voices in music, visual arts, comedy, and storytelling.

Festival venues range from historic churches and iconic pubs to contemporary galleries, enhancing the immersive experience. The 2025 lineup includes David Kitt, Junior Brother, Mohammad Syfkhan, and Theo Fitzgibbon, with more artists to be announced.
Making its Athlone debut, Seanchoíche (Shanna-Key-Ha)—founded by Ciaran Gaffney (Gaff)—revives Ireland’s ancient storytelling tradition, inviting people to share personal stories that spark joy, reflection, and connection.
