Seachtain na Gaeilge in Athlone – Community Events, Wellbeing Workshops and Inclusive Céilí Celebrations

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2026 is a celebration of Irish culture, language, and community, proudly supported by the Stimulus Fund. Join us in Athlone for a series of events designed to inspire, connect, and bring people together.

Start your week with Meditation with Jameson Newell, a calming session that combines breathwork, meditation, and gentle movement. This class will give you practical tools to find inner peace, reduce stress, and reconnect with yourself. Suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.

On 8th March, come along to Cuppa and Chats, a relaxed gathering where you can practice your cúpla focal in a friendly environment. Enjoy warm drinks, conversation, and community connection at the Chocolate Brown Café, Athlone.
Time: 1pm

The week concludes with Gaylí: Céilí don Phobal Aiteach agus comhghuaillithe led by Irish dancer and céilí caller August Kirwan. This is an inclusive céilí for all abilities, celebrating LGBTQ+ community members and allies. No experience is needed—just bring your energy and enjoy a night of music, dance, and shared joy.
