This August, Athlone welcomes the return of Féile na Sionainne, a lively celebration of Irish traditional culture. The festival takes place from 1st to 3rd August 2025.
Over three days, locals and visitors can enjoy a rich mix of music, song, dance and storytelling. Events will run from 2pm to 6pm daily across several outdoor locations. These performances will create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
Importantly, this festival forms part of the wider All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil celebrations held in nearby Mullingar. It highlights Athlone’s deep connection to Irish music and culture. The programme will feature local artists, community performers and special guests from across the country.
In addition, Féile na Sionainne is a family-friendly event. There will be plenty to enjoy—whether you prefer toe-tapping tunes, lively set dancing or simply listening to traditional sounds in the open air.
The festival also supports the Irish language and heritage. Alongside the main acts, you can expect informal sessions, storytelling, and cultural displays throughout the town.
Most importantly, this is a chance to connect with others and celebrate a shared cultural identity. Each day brings something unique, yet all events reflect the same joyful spirit.
Join us for a weekend filled with music, tradition and community pride. Come and experience the best of Irish culture in the heart of Athlone.
