The National Ploughing Championships 2025 will take place from Tuesday, 16th September to Thursday, 18th September in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly. After previously hosting the event in 2016, 2017 and 2018, Screggan is set to welcome back crowds on familiar ground, with extra space provided by neighbouring farms to support the growing scale of the event.
Organised by the National Ploughing Association, the Championships are expected to attract over 250,000 visitors across the three days. The site will feature a vast 50-acre exhibition and trade arena, making it one of Europe’s largest outdoor agricultural events.
More than just ploughing, the event showcases Ireland’s farming, food and agri-tech industries, with hundreds of exhibitors, live machinery demos, livestock, competitions and innovation hubs. It’s also a major networking opportunity for rural businesses and communities, supported by initiatives from the Local Enterprise Office.
The Championships offer something for everyone – from families and school groups to agri-professionals, suppliers and foodies. Alongside the core ploughing competitions, expect food stands, artisan stalls, fashion shows, interactive exhibits and much more.
Returning to Screggan highlights the strong community spirit and infrastructure that made previous years such a success. Visitors can look forward to an exciting blend of tradition, innovation and rural culture.
Whether you’re interested in farming, food, machinery or just an unforgettable day out, the Ploughing Championships 2025 promise a packed schedule and a warm welcome.
