With years of worldwide success and over 30 million records sold, Smokie’s legacy continues to captivate audiences across generations.
The story of Smokie began in Bradford, England in the early 1960s, evolving through lineup changes into a globally recognised band. Following the departure of original lead singer Chris Norman in 1986, the group continued to thrive, later welcoming Alan Barton, whose powerful voice helped re-establish their international presence. After Barton’s tragic passing in 1995, the music lived on through new formations and dedicated musicians.
In 2008, Spirit of Smokie was born, fronted by Dean Barton, son of Alan Barton. With his remarkably similar vocal style and commanding stage presence, Dean and the band have worked tirelessly to keep the Smokie legacy alive, delivering performances filled with energy, musicianship, and emotion.
