Cry-Baby is a vibrant musical based on the 1990 John Waters film of the same name. Featuring music by Adam Schlesinger, lyrics by David Javerbaum, and a book by Mark O’Donnell and Thomas Meehan—the duo behind the musical Hairspray—this production promises to be a delightful experience. The story revolves around Allison Vernon-Williams, a Baltimore teenager from a privileged background, who is irresistibly drawn to Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker, an orphaned rebel leading a group of outcasts in 1954 Baltimore.
