Retro Cannonball is revving up for another unforgettable journey — and Athlone is right at the heart of the action! From 13th–15th June 2025, the Retro Cannonball convoy of classic and iconic cars from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s will cruise across Ireland in a celebration of style, vintage engineering, and community spirit.

Friday 13th June – A Pit Stop in Athlone

Athlone plays a central role in this year’s route as the finish line for Day One. The stunning Sheraton Hotel will host the drivers, crews and their immaculate retro vehicles as they arrive from Offaly on Friday evening. Expect roaring engines, eye-catching car graphics, and lots of photo opportunities as the convoy rolls into town.

Head down to the Sheraton Hotel, Co. Westmeath, from late afternoon on Friday 13th June to witness the vintage spectacle arrive in style. It’s a fantastic opportunity for car lovers, families, and curious spectators alike.
